Let’s Celebrate!

On July 23rd Greta and her friends celebrated a big milestone: the one year anniversary of the first ever performance of “Greta’s Dream”!! Hard to believe that so much has happened in just twelve months since last summer. All of us here at gretasdream.com are so happy for Greta, Polly, and everyone else involved! Here’s to another year of success and big dreams…hip, hip, hurray!!!

GSO Bass QuartetGSO Bass Quartet goes to San Francisco

The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra Bass Quartet earlier this year received the honor of being invited to perform “Greta’s Dream” at this year’s International Society of Bassists convention in San Francisco. Their concert not only represented the first performance of “Greta’s Dream” on the west coast of the United States, but also a fantastic chance to share this wonderful piece with many bassists from around the world. The performance was held at San Francisco State University and was a huge success! Congratulations to the GSO Bass Quartet and Ayla Kabaca, who once again (and now in two languages) brought the story of Greta’s Dream to life. BRAVO!!

Rehearsing Greta’s Dream

In preparation for their big trip across the Atlantic Ocean to perform in San Francisco, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra Bass Quartet put together this little video of “Don’t even try to do it” from “Greta’s Dream.” Hope you enjoy and don’t forget to check out the GSO Bass Quartet’s Facebook page.

Greta greets New Haven!

New Haven Symphony Orchestra Bass Quartet with William DeMeritt and Charles DeRamus
Earlier this year Greta made lots of new friends in the northeastern part of the United States when the New Haven Symphony Orchestra performed “Greta’s Dream” three times as part of the orchestra’s Family Concerts series. All three concerts were wonderfully narrated by William DeMeritt, from the Yale School of Drama, and expertly performed by members of the New Haven Symphony bass section. Thanks to everyone who made these performances possible and so successful!

Here is a little video from the very first performance ever of Greta’s Dream! Held at the Colorado Music Festival in Boulder, Colorado, the premiere was a great success and is a wonderful memory for all who participated and were in attendance. Thanks so much and enjoy!
